How Russia Manipulated Voting Day

Russia went out of their way to corrupt and influence democratic supporters and other countries. On voting day of the presidential election in 2016, multiple people were sent threatening emails about who to vote for. In addition, russia attempted to affect the outcome by promoting their candidate on multiple social media platforms and t.v. advertisements. Their cyber operations manipulated and distorted the certainty of the election leaving citizens questioning the results.

To further influence citizen, russia supporters created fake social media accounts. Some accounts were used to degrade political figures such as Hilary Clinton and Joe Bide. Most posts were made to promote them as corrupt, or incompetent for the position. In addition, a now banned website called “Peace Data” was made to weaken Joe Biden. Russia supporters used fake identities to disguise professional journalists to further humiliate and weaken Joe Biden.
How Russia Influenced American Media
Russia became a very big part in the voting campaigns becuase of how much they influenced American media. On multiple occasions, Russia supports would stop at nothing to twist the truth and make other politicians look bad and promote them as something that they were not.
